The recent launch of Lotus Notes 8 as a public beta has raised the profile of what is probably the least well understood development platform in the world. Having been a user and part-time developer since version 4 – I’ve seen the rise and decline of a tool that really has no equivalent. Now that IBM / Lotus have realised that Notes has so much potential that its been worth putting development money into.
So with a revamped interface – lots of development goodies and a clearer infrastructure – perhaps it time to look again at a development platform that could kick the competition into touch – if Lotus can get the product back in the hands of developers and users.
